چکیده

Aims: The objective of the study was to ascertain antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and ESBL prevalence bacteria isolated from snacks.
Place Duration Study: Department Microbiology (Laboratory Unit) Michael Okpara University Agriculture Umudike.
Methodology: snacks were mashed aseptically, serially diluted inoculated onto nutrient agar MacConkey agar. Isolates identified using standard microbiological procedures. Antimicrobial isolates detection done disk diffusion method. production confirmed Double Disc Synergy Test (DDST) method following CLSI recommendations.
Results: Escherichia coli, Salmonella Typhi, Staphylococcus aureus Klebsiella pneumoniae with coli as most prevalent isolate 42% occurrence in samples screened. There significant difference sensitivity different antibiotics used at P=0.05. Typhi exhibited highest resistance an antibiotic 86% ciprofloxacin while lowest 10% cefotaxime. Among Gram-negative bacteria, 36% suspected producing E. producers indicating occurrence.
Conclusion: presence street vended which high that could be attributed among isolates.
